The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Vigneux was quite tightly wound when I encountered it, but its potential is impressive. Revealing aromas of plums, redcurrant and cherries mingled with rose petals and peony, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and vibrant, with chalky grip on the finish that will resolve with another winter in barrel. As readers may remember, it's derived from two parcels located in this lieu-dit below Les Suchots.

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Aux Vigneux has a lively red berry, crushed stone and light sous-bois scented bouquet that gradually unfurls in the glass. The medium-bodied palate has a sorbet-fresh entry with orange rind infusing the red fruit. It is linear towards the finish that maybe needs a little more grip, which may come with the second winter in barrel.
