This blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 4% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc is thick and leathery in style. It has full-bodied richness in flavors of dark chocolate and blackberry that work well alongside firm tannins and integrated oak.

A polished, friendly style, with inviting cassis and cherry preserve flavors framed by a rounded vanilla note. The fruit holds the upper hand on the moderately juicy finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2022. 19,700 cases made.

The 2016 Red Blend Tapestry is a step up in price, but not any better than the Rutherford release. Classy notes of currants, cedary spice, dried herbs, and earth all give way to a medium-bodied, elegant wine that has nicely integrated acidity, present tannins, and moderate mid-palate richness and depth. Give bottles a year or so in a cool cellar and see if they flesh out or not.
