The 2019 Meursault Perrières 1er Cru has a focused bouquet, intense and mineral-driven, with touches of linseed and fennel coming through with time. After ten minutes, the aromatics really coalesce and become very enticing. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and saline, the saliva flowing freely after the first gulp. It feels reassuringly persistent, and it should mature beautifully in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
