This plot and the wine it produces have taken on a new dimension since their conversion to bio-dynamics in 2006. It is indeed the first plot that we have converted. Les Combes-Dessus gives a full, firm and generous wine, very typical Pommard, but which we recognize all the same that it was produced by a Volnaysian estate. Depending on the vintage, it requires 3 to 8 years of aging.

The 2018 Pommard 1er Cru Combes Dessus has turned out nicely this year, offering up pretty aromas of raspberries, raw cocoa, orange rind and flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with lively acids and a generous core of fruit, framed by powdery tannins. Concluding with a long finish, it's decidedly promising.
